2013 Elderton Greenock Two Shiraz Mourvedre Grenache

A blend of 49% Shiraz, 41% Mourvedre and 10% Grenache. Opaque black dark red colour with a bright dark red hue. Liquorice and blackberry aromas drive the nose with hints of ripe plum, smoky vanillin cedar and pepper also present. Medium to full bodied with ample richness and a finely structured mouthfeel the palate features flavours of ripe blackberries and liquorice over some dark plum, dried meats, vanillin cedar and pepper. Slightly dryish but otherwise fine grained tannins along with bright acidity give the wine some tension on the finish. Medium to long aftertaste of liquorice, black cherries, smoky vanillin cedar, dried meats and pepper.
