The St. Jakobi vineyard is a small 5 acre vineyard planted by winemaker Wayne Dutschke’s uncle Ken Semmler in 1975. The vineyard takes it name from the neighbouring St. Jakobi Lutheran church where a long lineage of the Dutschke family have all been married. The wine is aged for 20 months in new and older French and American hogsheads.

Rich, concentrated and perfectly balanced this lavishly textured Shiraz is reminiscent of old school Barossa Shiraz at its very best.

Outstanding colour displaying a saturated midnight black core and a deep dark purple black hue. Intense liquorice, dark chocolate and blackberry scents intermingle with mocha, vanillin oak and spice. Classic old school Barossa Shiraz with a big rich, plushly textured flavour profile that’s brimming with liquorice, blackberry, dark chocolate and vanillin oak flavours that caress the palate like liquid silk. Nuances of spice and pepper brighten up the finish. Outstanding power and concentration with a velvety tannin structure that has an underlying sturdiness. Very long finish of liquorice, blackberries, dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spicy pepper. An outstanding example of Barossa Shiraz.
