2013 Coldstream Hills Pinot Noir

Matured for 9 months in French oak this wine displays a semi translucent dark red colour with a crimson red hue. Scented aromas of dark cherries and strawberry overlaid by some meatiness, subtley smoked cedar, light stalk and spice emerge from the glass. Light weight the palate has a relatively tight focus whilst still exhibiting expressive flavours of ripe dark cherries and plums followed by meaty characters and spicy cedar that gives it a sense of savouriness. Dryish finish with fine grained tannins. Very good depth with a medium to long spicy dark cherry, plum, dried meats and cedar conclusion.
