With release of the 2013 collection the By Farr Pinots have cemented their place at the top of the tree for Australian Pinot Noir.

Excellent depth with a deep very dark red black tinged colour and a dark red hue. The nose is a sniffers delight that captivates the olfactory senses with both its intensity and complexity featuring ripe dark cherry and plum aromatics intermixed with clove which overlays a background of dried meats, earth and spice. Medium weighted the palate boasts outstanding richness and power along with a terrific supple textural feel. Mouthfilling flavours of ripe dark cherries, plum and clove glide across the palate with underlying dried meat and spicy cedar characters. Velvet smooth tannins. Exceptionally powerful with a very long finish of ripe dark cherries, clove infusions, dried meats and spicy cedar. A wine of great class, complexity and explosive power.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Other Reviews….
From clones 114, 115, 667 and MV6; hand-picked and sorted, 60-70% destemmed before a 4-day cold soak, wild ferment for 12 days, pigeaged 2-3 times daily, matured for 18 months in French oak (50-60% new). Significantly more powerful and intense than its Farr Rising sibling. This is the big dog of the trio, with everything needed for a 20-year future. Drink by 2033.
