Totally opaque midnight black colour with a bright dark red black tinged hue. Scents of blackberry and liquorice are overlaid by smoky earth like nuances with subtle dried meats and pepper ensuing. Elegantly structured, yet with good underlying richness the palate has a relatively savoury profile of blackberry and liquorice infused with smoky earth like characters over some vanillin cedar with a peppery finish. Finely grained tannins have a muscular feel and provide an excellent framework. Long aftertaste of blackberries, liquorice, smoked earth infusions, vanillin cedar and pepper.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 13.8%

Other Reviews….
Hand-picked, wild-fermented, matured for 16 months in French oak (25% new). The rich, exotically complex bouquet brings together a basket of oriental spices, dark fruits and French oak, the textured, medium to full-bodied palate with rippling tannin muscles and dark berry fruits all in balance. Drink by 2033.
