2013 Barone di Valforte Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Very deep near opaque dark red black colour with a bright dark red purple hue. The nose displays lifted aromas of ripe dark cherries, black raspberries and subtle liquorice followed by some incense, subtle earth and spice. The palate features ripe black cherry flavours, incense infusions, some liquorice and spicy earth with a dry slightly chewy finish imparted by the tannins. Aftertaste of black cherries, liquorice and spicy earth.
