2013 Atze's Corner Zen Master Shiraz

Sourced from vines planted in 1912 with a total production of only 50 cases. Maturation took place in a new French oak puncheon for 20 months. Impenetrable inky black colour with a very deep dark red black hue. Powerful aromatics of liquorice, black cherries and blackberries ascend from the glass overlaid by toasty oak with hints of fennel and blackpepper ensuing. Rich and heavy with a dense opulent texture, lashings of ripe blackberries, liquorice, black cherry liqueur and a good dollop of toasty oak fill the mouth followed by notions of fennel and blackpepper. Velvet smooth tannins. Aftertaste of black cherry liqueur, toasty oak, blackberries, liquorice and blackpepper.
