2013 Atze's Corner The Giant Durif

A big, rich, chewy Durif with a firm robust structure.

Superb colour saturation featuring an inky black core with an impenetrable very dark purple black hue. The nose comes across as a little compact upon first sniff but gradually opens up to reveal scents of both ripe morello and black cherries, liquorice, vanillin oak and spice. Rich, dense and chewy the palate boasts mouthfilling flavours of black plums, morello cherries and liquorice over vanillin oak and a spicy finish. Solid robust tannins are coupled with well balanced acidity providing an excellent structure. Long aftertaste of spicy black plum, morello cherry, liquorice and vanillin oak.
Total production of only 160 cases.
Cellar 6-8 years.
