2012 Zonte's Footstep Lake Doctor Shiraz Viognier

Totally opaque black crimson red colour with deep dark crimson red black hue. Alluring aromas of ripe blackberry, dark plum and liquorice evolve from the glass followed by some confectionary and subtle peppery end notes. Full bodied with an opulent fruit profile the palate possesses generous flavours of ripe dark plum and a touch of liquorice followed by some toasty oak, hints of exotic dried apricot and pepper. The tannins are slightly dry and chalky at present. Excellent length with long aftertaste of ripe dark plum, liquorice, toasty oak and pepper.
