A savoury and generously flavoured blend that makes for delicious drinking now.

Grenache, Shiraz & Mourvedre have been planted in the Barossa for nearly 170 years. During this time the three varieties were commonly blended together to make fortified Tawny Port style wines before gaining prominence as a dry red blend after World War II.
The Strapper is a blend of 40% Grenache, 35% Shiraz and 25% Mataro and was matured for 9 months in older American, French and Hungarian oak hogsheads. Deep dark red purple core with some black tinges around the edges and a crimson purple hue. The nose displays ripe plum and black raspberry aromas followed by some liquorice, light earth and spice. Medium weight with a soft supple mouthfeel the palate features joosy flavours of ripe dark plums and dark raspberries followed by some subtle liquorice, confectionary and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Long spicy dark raspberry, plum and confectionary aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
