Valle Secreto are a small producer with 36 Ha of low cropping vines (mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Carmenere) They’re committed to producing wines from varieties which “express their potential with the local climate and special characteristic of the soil they are in.” Not that the Chileans don’t believe some places are better than others to grow grapes. 'Alto Cachapoal' is located in the newly designated (although still voluntary) Andes geographic zone and is warmer and drier than the coastal regions, and has greater diurnal temperature variation than vineyards on the wide valley floor.

A Classic expression of Chile’s Signature grape variety

Totally opaque black crimson colour with a deep purple crimson hue. The nose displays vivid blackcurrant aromas alongside some cedary tobacco characters, subtle black olive, earth and spice. Medium to full bodied with terrific richness and a savoury personality the palate dishes out flavours of perfectly ripened blackcurrants which dominate over some tobacco like characters, cedary cigar box, black olive and spice. Beautifully integrated very fine grained tannins. Excellent depth with a long finish of ripe blackcurrant, cedary tobacco characters, subtle black olive and spice.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14.5%
