2012 Tscharke Only Son Tempranillo

Planted in 1998, the Tempranillo vines were the first that Damien Tscharke planted. The wine was matured in seasoned French barriques for 15 months. Totally opaque inky black colour with a deep very dark red hue. Intense black cherry and liquorice aromas are to the fore followed by earth, leather and spice notes. Big, rich and brooding with a chewy mouthfeel, palate flavours of black cherries and liquorice are dominate over a back palate of leather, earth and spice. Solid firmish tannins with a medium to long spicy black cherry, earth and leather aftertaste.
