‘An elegant, yet powerful & rich Struie’

Fruit for the 2012 Struie has been sourced from the Barossa (80%) and Eden (20%) valleys with maturation taking place in seasoned French oak for 18 months. Totally opaque inky black dark purple colour with deep dark purple black tinged hue. Pronounced liquorice allsorts, ripe blackberry and black cherry scents emerge from the glass followed by some dark chocolate and spicy toasty vanillin oak. The palate possesses rich mouthfilling flavours of ripe blackberries, liquorice and dark chocolate followed by some spicy toasted vanillin oak. Plush opulent texture with silky smooth polished tannins. Excellent power but without being over weight or heavy handed. Long persistent aftertaste of ripe blackberries, liquorice, subtlely toasted vanillin oak and spice.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc 15.5%
