This vineyard was planted with cuttings from one of the old Run Rig vineyards. The Shiraz is crushed on top of the Viognier from the same vineyard, which has been lightly pressed for blending with the Run Rig. The blend of fruit (92% Shiraz & 8% Viognier) is then co-fermented and matured for 18 months in 2 ½ year old French barrels that had been previously used for RunRig.

Totally opaque midnight black colour with a very deep dark red black hue. Scented liquorice and blackberry aromas are followed by some black cherries, smoky cedar, subtle dried meats and blackpepper. Rich and supplely textured the palate features fleshy flavours of ripe dark plums, liquorice, blackberries and black cherries over a background of smoky cedar, subtle meatiness and blackpepper. There’s good underlying structure to the silky smooth very polished tannins. Superb power with a very long aftertaste of dark plum, ripe blackberries, liquorice, smoky cedar, dried meats and pepper.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc 15%
