Released into the world of winemaking in 1999 after seven years teaching physical education, Tim McNeil has already worked alongside the likes of Mark Barry to help carve out the iconic Jim Barry “Armagh” Shiraz and also their highly regarded Watervale Riesling. In 2005 a new challenge beckoned with an opportunity to work with Kevin Mitchell at Kilikanoon and to also start creating the first Tim McNeil Wines.

‘A rich, textured Clare Valley Shiraz that’s bursting at the seams with opulent fruit’

Matured in 20% new French hogsheads for 24 months. Magnificent colour saturation displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a very deep black purple hue. Intense aromas of liquorice, ripe blackberry and dark chocolate blossom from the glass followed by vanillin confectionary and liquorice allsorts. Rich and concentrated with a dense opulent texture the palate is bursting with decadent liquorice and ripe blackberry flavours with some dark chocolate mint, vanillin confectionary and spice in the background. Velvety but structural tannins with a long powerful finish of liquorice, ripe blackberries, subtle choc mint, vanillin cedar and spice.
