2012 Tellurian Tranter Shiraz

Matured for 15 months in primarily French oak (50% new) and a small portion of American oak barriques. Opaque black dark red colour with dark crimson red black tinged hue. Nosing reveals aromas of blackberry and liquorice overlaid by some toasty oak and spice. Medium to full bodied the palate possesses ripe flavours of liquorice, blackberries and dark plums followed by some toasty oak and spice. Velvet smooth tannins with an aftertaste of toasty oak, liquorice and spice. The toasty oak component is a little too prominent on the finish at this stage.
Cellar 5-6 years.
