Semi translucent bright dark red colour with a black tinge around the edges and a dark crimson hue. Perfumed scents of violets and dark cherries emanate from the glass followed by a whiff of anise, some meaty cedar like characters and spice. Light in body the palate possesses a supple, textured mouthfeel and good richness with flavours of ripe dark cherries, subtle anise and dark strawberries prevalent over some meatiness and spicy cedar. Good power wave with a very fine grained beautifully integrated tannin structure. Long aftertaste of dark cherries, strawberries, some dried meats and spicy cedar.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 13.5%

Other Reviews….
Exceptional colour; the varietal sibling is as impressive as one might expect from this great vintage, but this wine is another large step up the quality tree. It has the tension and fusion one sees in young burgundies in top vintages, and you know an Aladdin's cave of fragrances and flavours will open up over the next 5 years as the wine approaches the maturity it will hold for years thereafter. Drink by 2025.
