Blended with a small amount of Merlot and Petit Verdot the wine was matured for 18 months in French oak. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a bright dark red hue. Nosing reveals aromas of blackcurrant intermixed with mulberries and black olive followed by some subtle cedary tobacco notes and faint bay leaf. Medium bodied the palate features flavours of blackcurrant, mulberries and cedary tobacco characters over subtle earthy black olives and spice. Slightly dryish finish with fine grained tannins. Medium to long aftertaste of blackcurrant, dark mulberries, subtle tobacco infusions, spicy lightly toasted cedar and earth.

Other Reviews….
From the Denbarker district; a blend of cabernet with small amounts of merlot and petit verdot, matured for 18 months in French oak. Very complex, earthy fruits immediately lock horns with robust tannins, but you can sense there will be an opening not too far down the track. Strange though it may seem, there's a certain degree of elegance here. Drink by 2032.
