2012 Spinifex Esprit

A blend of 78% Grenache, 10% Mataro, 6% Cinsault, 4% Shiraz and 2% Carignan. Deep dark red colour with a tinge of black around the edges and a dark red hue. The nose displays good aromatic lift with ripe dark raspberry and dark plum scents to the fore followed by traces of liquorice, scorched earth and spice. Medium weight with a joosy textural feel and plenty of spice the palate possesses succulent flavours of spicy dark raspberry, dark plum and liquorice over some lightly scorched earth with the spice persisting right through to the finish. Velvety tannins with a long spicy aftertaste of dark raspberry, dark plum, subtle liquorice and lightly scorched earth.
