‘A Rich Barossa Shiraz with a fleshy ripe core.’

Sons of Eden is a partnership between winemaker Corey Ryan and viticulturist Simon Cowham who both learnt their trades in the vineyards and cellars of Eden Valley. The name of this wine is taken from Zephyrus, the Greek god of the west wind who is often depicted as a horse. The vineyards of the Barossa are regularly buffeted by cooling Westerly winds creating an ideal temperature range in which to slowly ripen Shiraz. Maturation took place in a mix of new and seasoned French & American oak hogsheads for a period of 18 months.

Totally opaque inky black crimson red colour with dark crimson black hue. Showing excellent intensity a perfumed bouquet of liquorice and ripe blackberries greets the nose followed by nuances of toasty vanillin oak, mocha and spice. The palate boasts opulent palate flavours of liquorice and ripe blackberry followed by some chocolately toasty vanillin oak with a touch of spice on the finish. Plush supple mouthfeel with velvet smooth tannins. Long ripe blackberry, dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years (2019-2020).
Alc 14.5%
