2012 Shaws Road Arthurs Creek Cabernet Sauvignon

Matured for 2 years in French oak barriques. Opaque dark red black colour with a very dark red hue. Nosing reveals lifted ripe blackcurrant scents followed by some dark chocolate, vanillin cedar and spice. The palate opens with some blackcurrant fruit flavours but then turns green and sour with a thin aggressive textural feel. The acidity is too high, the flavours lean and hard and the wine is out of balance. Very dry finish. Short aftertaste of sour cherries, cedar and spice.
