2012 Scotchmans Hill Shiraz

Matured in new to 4 year old French barriques for 15 months. Totally opaque inky black colour with a bright very dark red hue. The nose exhibits aromas of blackberries, liquorice, smoky oak and spice. Medium to full bodied, rich blackberry and liquorice flavours adorn the palate with a backdrop of meaty characters, smoky cedar and pepper. Velvet smooth tannins. Long generous aftertaste of blackberry, liquorice, lightly smoked oak and spicy pepper.
Cellar 5-6 years.
