The ‘Heinrich’ is a tribute wine to winemakers Rolf and Christa’s father, Rolf Heinrich Binder as he loved to work with these three great Barossa varietals. The final wine is blend of 50% Shiraz, 30% Mataro and 20% Grenache. Deep very dark red colour with black tinged edges and a very dark red hue. Quite fragrant, aromas of dark ripe raspberries, liquorice and mocha are overlaid by earthy vanillin oak with hints of leather and spice as end notes. Medium to full bodied with a generous juicy mouthfeel the palate features rich dark raspberry and liquorice flavours intermixed with dark chocolate over a background of spicy vanillin oak with some earth infusions also present. Velvet smooth tannins. Long aftertaste of spicy dark raspberries, liquorice, dark chocolate, vanillin oak and earth.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc 14%

Other Reviews....
Medium red-purple; no more than medium-bodied, but has a brightness to the blend over and above many such from the Barossa Valley; juicy red fruits and balanced acidity draw saliva from the mouth, and lengthen the finish. A very good wine. Drink by 2025.
