A blend of 90% Zinfandel and 10% Petite Sirah this a venture of Torbreck owner Pete Kight. The wine was aged for about 17 months in a mix of French, Hungarian and American oak. Top flight Californian Zinfandel is rarely seen on Australian shores so for those wine lovers who have not experienced the variety at its best this is definitely an example worth seeking out.

Bold, rich and powerful, yet in perfect balance this is a great example of Californian Zinfandel.

Totally opaque black red colour with a dark purple red hue. Nosing reveals ripe black cherry and black raspberry scents intermingling with some liquorice, vanillin cedar, faint earth and pepper. Full rich and concentrated the palate boasts an opulent flavour profile of black raspberries, liquorice and black cherries that flood the mouth over a back drop of vanillin cedar with a spicy peppery finish. Excellent power with a robust tannin structure that is largely concealed by the wealth of fruit. Long spicy black raspberry, black cherry, liquorice, vanillin cedar and pepper aftertaste. Very limited stocks.
