2012 Pikes Los Companeros Shiraz Tempranillo

Opaque black dark red colour with a dark red purple hue. Nosing reveals liquorice and black cherry top notes over some black olives and earthy leather scents. Medium to full bodied the palate is bursting with richness delivering sumptuous flavours of ripe black cherries and liquorice followed by some spicy cedar and subtle earthiness. Solid but fine grained tannins provide excellent structure and a touch of grip on the finish. Long aftertaste of black cherries, liquorice, earthy leather and spice. An excellent blend melding beautifully the distinctive characters of each variety.
