Matured in new French oak. Very deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. The nose exhibits aromas of ripe red currant and dark cherries followed by some toasty cedar and tobacco infusions with hints of black olive and dried herbs also present. Medium to full bodied the palate possesses ripe plummy red currant and dark cherry flavours over subtle cedary tobacco infusions. Soft velvet like tannins. Aftertaste of spice, plummy red currants, ripe dark cherries, subtle cedary tobacco characters and spicy dried herbs.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc 14%

Other Reviews….
70% cabernet sauvignon, 24% merlot, the remainder cabernet franc, petit verdot and malbec, hand-picked, chilled to 5 degrees C, hand-sorted, destemmed not crushed, cultured yeast, 30% static fermenters with 40 days skin contact, 20% open fermenters with 9 days cold soak, 50% open-fermented with 9 days cold soak and 16 days skin contact, 18 months in French barriques (60% new). Bright, clear colour; a remarkably elegant, juicy red and black berry fruit-filled wine, neither oak or tannins seeking to interfere with the fruit. One of those rare wines to be drunk now or in 20+ years time.
