2012 Mule Gateway Vineyard Shiraz

Totally opaque inky black dark purple colour with deep dark purple black tinged hue. Nosing reveals ripe blackberry and liquorice aromas alongside some dark chocolate with some vanillin oak and spice background notes. Full bodied the palate is still a little tight and inky in the mouth with generous ripe blackberry, dark plum and liquorice flavours followed by a dry, slightly chalky tannin structure. Nuances of subtle spicy vanillin oak and pepper are also evident. Aftertaste of inky blackberry, liquorice, toasty oak and pepper.
Cellar 6-8 years.
