2012 Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon

Totally opaque black purple colour with a bright dark purple red hue. The nose is quite youthful upon first approach with scents of blackcurrant, plum and dark cherries followed by some cedar and spice. Medium to full bodied the palate features a rich flavour profile of cassis and dark plum followed by a touch of liquorice, cedar and spice. Excellent power. Very fine grained perfectly integrated tannins with a long conclusion of cassis, dark plum, liquorice and spicy cedar. A very well made wine but it lacks some complexity given the price tag and is missing an X factor. Will no doubt improve with time.
