2012 Mayhem & Co. Small Berries McLaren Vale Shiraz

Matured for 14 months in 30% new oak barriques. Totally opaque black dark purple colour with youthful dark purple hue. The nose displays aromas of ripe dark plums and liquorice alongside a hint of dark chocolate with some underlying toasty oak and spice. Very youthful and unevolved the palate has medium body weight with flavours of blackberries and inky black cherries followed by a touch of liquorice and some spicy oak. Dryish slightly chalky tannins with aftertaste of inky blackberries, subtle liquorice and spicy toasted oak.
Cellar 5-6 years.
