2012 Maxwell Four Roads Old Vine Grenache

Fruit was sourced from 80+ year old vines with the resultant wines aged in seasoned French oak hogsheads for 15 months. Deep dark red black tinged colour with dark red hue. Aromas of black raspberry and subtle liquorice emerge from the glass followed by some confectionary and spice. Light to medium weight the palate features joosy flavours of dark raspberry, liquorice, vanillin confectionary and spice. Dryish finish with ever so slightly chalky tannins. Aftertaste of dark raspberry, liquorice and spice.
Cellar 3-4 years.
