2012 Maxwell Ellen Street Shiraz

Matured in oak barrels for 25 months this big opulent Shiraz displays a totally opaque inky black colour with a dark crimson red black tinged hue. Perfumed aromas of liquorice, black cherries and dark chocolate are followed by toasty vanillin oak with some spicy pepper end notes. Big, rich and textured the palate features an opulent profile of ripe blackberries and liquorice that borders on pure decadence followed by some black cherries, chocolatey oak and light toast with a spicy back palate. Velvet smooth tannins have an underlying solid structure. Excellent depth with a very long aftertaste of ripe blackberries, liquorice, dark chocolate, toasty oak and spice.
