A blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes produced using the appassimento drying technique whereby the fruit is laid out on bamboo racks during the winter months to concentrate their aromas and flavours.

Totally opaque dark red black core with a dark red hue. Elevated liquorice and ripe black cherry aromas intermix with hints of dark chocolate, leather, vanillin oak, subtle dried raisins and spice. Rich and dense in texture the palate is engulfed with lavish ripe black cherry, liquorice and black plum flavours which are underpinned by vanillin oak, traces of earthy leather characters and spice. Good balanced acidity with velvety yet firm tannins and a long, slightly chewy aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 15%

Other Reviews….
Lots of complexity comes through from the outset on the nose, borne out in terms of smoky black cherries, dried rose stems, asphalt, tar and licorice. Full, structured body that dives through layers of dark fruit, driven along by active acidity all the way to the long but not cloying finish.
