The name ‘Bernoota’ was the original name given to the homestead on the Lake Breeze property – it is Aboriginal for ‘camp among the gum trees’. The 2012 Bernoota is made from a blend of 60% Shiraz and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and matured in a combination of American and French oak barriques for 20 months.

A very impressive blend possessing Langhorne Creek’s trademark richness and choc mint characters.

Totally opaque inky black purple colour with a deep dark purple hue. Pronounced aromas of blackberry, blackcurrants and liquorice overlay a hint of mint and spicy cedar. Medium to full bodied with abundant richness the palate sports mouthfilling flavours of blackberries, blackcurrant and choc mint followed by some vanillin cedar and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Excellent length with a long aftertaste of ripe blackberries, choc mint, vanillin cedar and spice. Already very savoury now this excellent red will only get better with time.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%
