Greenock Shiraz is a single vineyard wine produced from low yielding Shiraz vines on the Kalleske estate at Greenock, in the North-Western Barossa Valley.
Cuttings for these vines originate from a vineyard planted on the property in the late 1800s. Maturation takes place in a combination of American and French oak hogsheads (30% new) for a period of 18 months.

“The wines from 2012 are outstanding and up there with 2010 and 2002 as the best wines to come out of our Kalleske winery” – Troy Kalleske.

Outstanding saturated inky black colour with very deep black crimson red hue. Nosing offers up ripe blackberry and liquorice aromas followed by some subtle vanillin oak, meatiness and blackpepper end notes. Rich mouthfilling flavours of ripe blackberry and liquorice are followed by some toasty vanillin oak, dark chocolate and meaty blackpepper. Opulently textured with velvet smooth tannins. Long aftertaste of ripe blackberry, liquorice, toasty oak and meaty blackpepper.
Cellar 5-6 years (2018-2019).
Alc 14.5%
