2012 K1 By Geoff Hardy Cabernet Sauvignon

Matured for 20 months in French and American oak. Totally opaque inky black dark purple colour with a deep dark purple hue. The nose reveals scents of ripe blackcurrants and black cherries intermixed with a hint of liquorice followed by underlying cedar, tobacco and spice. Medium bodied with excellent tannin/acid structural properties the palate is still quite youthful delivering flavours of fresh blackcurrants and dark cherries over some vanillin cedar, light tobacco and spice with a bright fresh finish. The palate lacks the complexity of the nose and requires some patience to come together. Dryish slightly chalky tannins. Aftertaste of blackcurrant, cedar and spice.
