2012 Jim Barry The Benbournie Cabernet Sauvignon

Totally opaque midnight black dark red core with a dark red black tinged hue. Intense ripe blackcurrant and mulberry scents drift from the glass followed by cedary tobacco characters, hints of liquorice, earth and subtle bay leaf. Adorning the palate are abundant rich blackcurrant and liquorice fruits along with some bay leaf elements underpinned by a lightly toasted cedary tobacco component, earth and spice. Still remaining quite elegant in its feel, it has a slightly dryish finish and fine grained yet sturdily built tannin structure. Medium to long blackcurrant, liquorice, subtle bay leaf, tobacco, earthy cedar and spice aftertaste.
