2012 Glen Eldon Black Lady Shiraz

A blend of Glen Eldon’s Twisted Trunk Reserve Barossa Shiraz and Munari wines Lady’s Pass Heathcote Shiraz. Totally opaque inky black colour with a very deep dark red black hue. Pronounced liquorice and blackberry aromas are overlaid by subtle smoky vanillin oak with confectionary and pepper notes following. Medium to full bodied, Barossa’s opulent richness is tempered by the structure of the Heathcote component. Mouthfilling flavours of liquorice and blackberry with a blackpepper overlay are followed by well integrated smoky cedar, some meatiness and spice. Solidly built fine grained tannins provide the framework. Long aftertaste of liquorice, blackberry, blackpepper, meaty characters and spicy cedar. An intriguing amalgam of two of Australia’s premier Shiraz producing regions.
