2012 Five Geese The Pippali Old Vine Shiraz

Totally opaque midnight black colour with a very deep dark crimson red black hue. Pronounced liquorice and ripe blackberry aromas are followed by some black cherry notes and subtlety toasted vanillin cedar and pepper. Medium to full bodied with good richness and definition the palate features generous flavours of liquorice, black cherries and blackberries over a background of dried meats, a subtle smoky character and a blackpepper infused finish. Dry solidly constructed tannins provide an underlying firmness to the wines structural build. Aftertaste of blackpepper, liquorice, black cherries, dried meats and smokiness. A peppery tightly knit McLaren Vale Shiraz.
