2012 Elderton Ode to Lorraine Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz Merlot

A blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Shiraz and 11% Merlot with maturation taking place in French and American oak. Opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Gorgeous aromas of blackcurrant mingling with blackberry and liquorice arise from the glass overlaying a back drop of subtle dark mulberry, vanillin cedar and spice. Medium to full bodied with a polished mouthfeel the palate delivers generous flavours of blackcurrant, liquorice, subtle mulberry, vanillin cedar and spice. Supple texture and excellent depth. Velvet smooth tannins perfectly integrated with the fruit. Finishes with a long aftertaste of blackcurrant, ripe mulberries, vanillin oak and spice.
