2012 Domaine Clarendon Syrah

Superb colour displaying a dense inky black core with a very deep dark purple black hue. Pronounced blackberry and liquorice aromas arise from the glass with some black cherry also evident over a back drop of vanillin cedar, subtle dried meats and spice. Boasting tremendous richness and a solid meaty structure the palate delivers mouthfilling flavours of liquorice, ripe blackberries and black cherries over a background of dried meats, smoky cedar and spicy pepper. Inky muscular mouthfeel with a firm but fine grained tannin framework. Long aftertaste of liquorice, black cherries, blackberries, inky dried meats and spicy smoked cedar.
