Opaque dark red black colour with a bright purple red hue. Aromas of black raspberries are interlaced with incense and liquorice over a background of light meatiness and spice. Not quite as big or heavy as previous vintages the palate is filled with rich dark raspberry and liquorice flavours over vanillin cedar like characters, incense infusions and spice. It’s a more elegant toned down versions of Philippe Cambie’s Domaine Calendal. Dryish finish with very fine grained tannins. Long ripe dark raspberry, liquorice, subtle vanillin cedar and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 15%

Other Reviews….
The finest wine yet produced by proprietor Philippe Cambie and his partner, Gilles Ferran, this blend of equal parts Mourvedre and Grenache aged 12 months in one-year-old barrels comes from vines in the charming yet spiritual name of Plan de Dieu (Plan of God). Sadly, there are only 450 cases of this beauty, which boasts terrific richness, a full-bodied mouthfeel and copious quantities of black raspberries, black currants, licorice, Provencal herbs and pepper. It is a seriously endowed, full-throttle, velvety textured Cotes du Rhone-Villages to drink over the next 3-4 years.
