2012 Deonte Estate 502 Shiraz

A blend of 70% Coonawarra & 30% Yarra Valley Shiraz with maturation taking place in a combination of new, second and third fill French oak for periods between 12-16 months. Opaque black dark red colour with a dark crimson red hue. Perfumed aromas of blackberries and liquorice are overlaid by blackpepper with subtle vanillin cedar and spice following. Medium to full in body the palate features generous mouthfilling flavours of liquorice and blackberries followed by some vanillin cedar and pepper. Ever so slightly dryish finish with perfectly integrated very fine grained tannins. Excellent length with a long liquorice, blackberry, vanillin cedar and pepper aftertaste.
