This is a great alternative to those looking for flavour without the weight in their Syrah. Opaque dark red black colour with a bright dark crimson red purple hue. Fragrant dark raspberry and liquorice aromas are overlaid by some dried meats, scorched earth, leather and blackpepper notes. Deliciously elegant and savoury with excellent length the medium weighted palate has flavours of dark raspberries intermixed with liquorice and earth followed by some incense infusions and pepper. Dry finish with very finely grained perfectly integrated tannins. Long savoury aftertaste of spicy dark raspberries, some meatiness, liquorice, earth and pepper.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc 13.5%

Other Reviews….
Just a step behind the Sainte Epine, the 2012 St Joseph Cuvee Francois de Tournon exhibits classic black raspberry, cassis, spiced meats and hints of licorice in its ripe, supple and beautifully pure profile. Aged 16 months in 30% new and 70% in 2- to 3-year-old barrels, it has medium to full-bodied richness, integrated acidity and building tannin. Drink it anytime over the coming decade. Drink 2014-2024.
