2012 Cape Mentelle Zinfandel

Produced from 38 year old low yielding bush vines. Opaque dark purple black colour with a purple red hue. Nosing reveals liquorice top notes intermixed with some ripe dark cherries and vanillin cedar followed by spicy pepper end notes. Full bodied the palate possesses generous flavours of liquorice, black cherries and vanillin cedar with a spicy peppery overlay. Firmly built, yet relatively smooth tannins. Long peppery aftertaste of liquorice, black cherries and vanillin cedar.
Cellar 5-6 years.
