Semi translucent dark red colour with a light crimson to dark red hue. Perfumed scents of violets and ripe dark cherries are intermixed with traces of anise and strawberries followed by some spicy cedar. Light to medium weight, rich and supplely textured the palate is generously endowed with flavours of ripe dark cherries, strawberries and anise infusions over some cedar and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Excellent power wave and concentration finishing long with spicy dark cherries, strawberries, anise and subtle meaty cedar characters.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
From 29yo vines. Always there, or thereabouts, and got it right in the cross-hairs in '12. The colour is good, the bouquet perfumed and spicy, the cherry fruit on the silky palate singing through to the fine tannins on the finish. Drink by 2022.
