An early pioneer of the Adelaide Hills region winemaker Stephen George established his vineyard in the Piccadilly Valley in the early 1980s and began producing its first wines in 1987. This wine is matured in seasoned French oak with the fruit being sourced from around ten of Ashton Hills own pinot clones and a neighbouring vineyard.

‘A magnificent example of Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir featuring superb richness, a supple mouthfeel and tremendous power.’

Semi translucent dark red colour with crimson red hue. The nose possesses an excellent perfumed sniff of dark cherries and violets followed by some dark plums, meaty game like characters, cedar and spice. Light to medium weight the palate boasts superb richness along with a textural silkiness. Mouthfilling flavours of ripe dark cherries and dark plums with some underlying meaty characters and cedar with a spicy finish. Outstanding power wave. Velvet smooth tannins with very long persistent aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, dark plum, some meatiness and spicy cedar.
