2011 Mr Riggs Shiraz

Maturation took place for a period of 18 months in new and 1 year old French and American oak barrels. Totally opaque inky black crimson colour with deep black crimson hue. The nose displays aromas of ripe blackberry and liquorice along with some dark plum followed by some subtle vanillin confectionary and spice. Full bodied with a supple silky texture and possessing a sense of refinement the palate delivers flavours of liquorice, blackberry and dark plum over a background of subtle vanillin oak with some spice on the back palate. Velvet smooth tannins. Excellent length with long ripe blackberry, liquorice, vanillin oak and spice aftertaste.

Cellar 5-6 years.
