2011 Juniper Crossing Cabernet Sauvignon

An excellent entry level example of Margaret River Cabernet.

The 2011 vintage was yet another terrific one in Margaret River with plenty of sunshine for close to perfect ripening, the warm autumn days producing concentrated flavour ripe Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Sourced from Juniper Estate’s own vineyards the wine was matured in French oak (15% new) for a period of 14 months.

Opaque black crimson colour with deep dark crimson red hue. Nosing reveals prominent blackcurrant notes over some mulberry and light bay leaf with undertones of cedar and spice. Medium to full bodied the palate possesses a rich fruit profile and a textural elegance with flavours of blackcurrants and dark mulberry intermixed with a touch of bay leaf followed by some cedar and spice on the back palate. Very fine grained perfectly integrated tannins with long blackcurrant, dark mulberry and spicy cedar aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years (2018-2019).
