2011 Gioiello Estate Merlot

Matured in French oak barriques for 18 months. Deep dark red colour with a tinge of black around the edges and a very dark red to brick red hue. Nosing reveals dark mulberry and dark cherry aromas overlaid by cedar, some tobacco leaf and spice. Light to medium weight the palate has a very savoury flavour profile of mulberries and dark cherries followed by some cedary tobacco like characters and spice. Elegant soft supple mouthfeel with very fine grained well integrated tannins. Long mulberry, dark cherry and spicy cedary tobacco aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
