Tasting note: [15ml sample] Smokey and sweet work well together. After a spell in American oak, this spent a finishing period in a Sauternes cask (sweet white Bordeaux). It's pretty typical Ardmore, which means quality distillate - smoked meats, sweet wood smoke and baked citrus carry through in the full, creamy, beautifully rounded delivery. Neither profound or long, but like Caol Ila, a distillery that’s almost as uniform in style as it is reliably satisfying. This one confidently ticks all the tasty boxes. 335 bottles at 51.5% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
